The Leader’s Role in Team Building

Behind every exemplary organization, no matter what its purpose or product, lies strong and efficient team/s. In this session Tom Pomeranz details the characteristics of a great team and explains why all successful workplaces depend upon the skills of the leader to promote the team’s success. Using “12 Simple Things” Tom will provide participants strategies and methods the leader can use to create and maintain such a dynamic team.

Creating and maintaining an effective team also necessitates that the leader provide ongoing positive feedback. Tom discusses the approaches to providing feedback, including nonverbal as well as verbal communication. He will also address the importance of mutual support and cooperation among all team members and how the leader can support and reinforce these key strengths.

It is only through the leader’s creation of a vision which motivates and inspires staff to work cooperatively as a team, will the organization will be a success.

WHAT ATTENDEES ARE SAYING

Challenged me to evaluate my performance as a leader. Inspired me to make a conscious effort to improve as a leader. My agency deserves it. Southern Illinois Association of Rehabilitation Facilities, Mt. Vernon, IL

I have a better understanding of myself and how others may perceive me. I also know what I need to change to improve myself. Whether I am able to make that change will be a work in progress. I can only change myselfso I was not focused on how it applies to my staff other than what I do affects them. At least I have a better understanding of how and why they act the way that they do. It was an excellent training and I learned a lot. Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center, Los Angeles, CA
